Lord, You know how frustrated I become when others don’t match my perfect obedience in following You. Of course, Lord, You also know I’m writing this with tongue firmly implanted in my cheek. Thank You for not assigning me the impossible task of controlling others, pointing a judgmental finger at their behavior, browbeating them, trying to change their lives. Some believers have taken on that challenge, but I try to avoid those folks. Instead, it’s my responsibility to focus my life on growing in faith through prayer and obedience to Your Word, since without faith, it’s impossible to please You (Hebrews 11:6). I’m now residing in the Kingdom of Light and released from my carnal desires to live and do as I please. Through prayer, I’m able to suppress the devil’s temptation for my carnal nature to rule.
Today, this is my simple prayer: Lord, as I follow Your Holy Spirit’s leading, may my actions and attitudes influence others to seek a relationship with You. I’m commanded to love others, not work to change their behavior. That job is the Holy Spirit’s alone.
Thank You, Jesus, for changing me. Amen.
