Lord God, the world defines “success” as having wealth, fame, power, or perhaps anything that would makes them feel relevant. Some need a freight train to carry their ego. The devil temps our carnal nature to covet these worldly successes, but he fails to state this warning: they are fleeting. Everything can be lost overnight. Economies crash, businesses fail, relationships dissolve, or say the wrong thing and the cancel culture will put you out to pasture. Who needs that? Jesus, You are the ultimate success story. I desire what You call success. May my love for You grow deeper every day. May my obedience be consistent in following the Holy Spirit’s leading. May I meditate on Your Word daily to gain greater knowledge of You. And may I love not only my good neighbors, but also the rude ones, hostile to the Gospel. You measure my Christlike success by my faithful practice of these virtues. When people seeing You living in me, Jesus, I can’t go wrong with this kind of success.
Success in life is found in You, Jesus. Amen.
