Good morning, Jesus.
Lord, this 2020 election reflects how fallen man is quick to put his trust in fickle, ever-changing people and unrealistic promises. Politicians promise peace and pie-in-the-sky if the voter will just trust them to change things. Most are prophets of fear. For Christ-followers, however, we need not fear nor be anxious. Our trust does not rest in who is or is not in the White House, or which ideology is prominent. Instead, our trust rests in You, Lord God. Psalm 102:26,27 assures us despite how nations rise and fall, and leaders come and go, You never change. You reign sovereignly forever on Your throne, imparting hope and peace to all who seek You. We can stand on Your promises when society reels with uncertainty, for You keep Your promises (Matthew 24:35).
Thank You, Lord, for being our anchor, our solid rock, our fortress in uncertain times. In Jesus’ name, amen.
