Good morning, Jesus.
Lord, how did I get so far off track? Don’t You remember how I wanted to throw my hands up and quit. You heard my frustration—“I can’t do this!” I felt like the biggest failure in the family of God. But in Your grace, You put Your arm around my shoulder and steered me back on to the right course. “My child, of course you can’t do that,” You said. “I didn’t call you to change people, I called you to love people. You can’t change people to be like you think they should be no matter how hard you try. How can You change others when you couldn’t even change yourself? Changing people is My job, not yours. I AM the only One who can change their heart, like I changed your heart. You just love them like I do (John 15:12). I’ll handle the changing part.”
As a nation, and individually, we repent of our wandering ways, looking everywhere for answers to perplexities except looking to You, Lord God. Forgive us. Only You can heal our nation. Only You can change the hearts of men to seek You and live according to Your precepts and values. So be it, Lord Jesus. Amen.
