Lord, I’m thankful salvation is all on You. Our good deeds, no matter how noble in our eyes, play no part in our salvation. You do it all. You seek us first to initiate our relationship with You. Even the faith to believe the truth of Jesus’ sacrifice for our sins is from You. What do You want us to bring to the altar? Nothing except our sins and a grateful heart. Our human tendency wants to “earn” salvation by following rules, or observing traditions or partaking in sacraments, but these things do not save us. Only Your grace. Nothing need to be added. By Your grace, You transfer our sins on Jesus and give us His righteousness. Your grace is sufficient. We need to add nothing. Our part? Just accept what You do (Ephesians 2:4–10).
Thankful You do it all, Lord God. Amen.
