Good morning, Jesus.
Lord, as a Christ-follower, I’m not exempt from life’s challenges of all the woes that plague mankind. The ancient psalmist experienced the same, In his distress, he admitted he was at a loss and pleaded with you: “teach me how You want me to live” (Psalm 86:11). Nearly 3000 years later, this prayer is still relevant. If I’m to live as You want, I must submit to Your will. Help me choose Your ways over my self-centered agenda. Train my mind to think Your thoughts to suppress my carnal desires. Keep me from grumbling and complaining, but in faith, help me speak Your Word in all circumstances. If all Your followers do this, then we can live peaceful and meaningful lives. We desire everything we do honors You in this broken world.
We pray Your protection for our friends on the Gulf coast from the coming Hurricane Sally. Many are still recovering from Hurricane Laura and are struggling to keep afloat. May Your power to bless, protect, and provide for these dear folks be evident to all. Demonstrate Your divine goodness amid this storm and draw people to You.
We pray Your mercy for the two Los Angeles deputies shot in a senseless act of evil. We pray their complete and total recovery. May the perpetrator be brought to justice. Forgive our sins, heal our nation. Only You can replace chaos with peace, Lord God.
Choosing to live as You want me to live, Jesus. Amen.
