Good morning, Jesus.
Lord, You are so patient with me. Your Spirit works tirelessly to eliminate my “not wanting to leave without a fight” self-centeredness. When I’m in my stubborn will, I insist life goes my way, and I mean right now! Nonetheless, Your Spirit nudges me to stay close to You. Then, with each failing, and I’m kicking myself for the mess I’ve made, You remind me without condemnation why I need You Jesus, my Savior. Life is so much easier when I’m submitted to You. I realize how much I need You today more than I did yesterday, and I will need You even more tomorrow.
We pray for your continued grace, protection and provision for our friends facing the wildfires destruction in California, Arizona, Utah, and Texas. Strengthen the first responders, medics, firefighters and emergency personnel battling these fires. Protect them all. May the goodness of people and the grace of Your church be there for them. Use these fires to draw people to You, especially skeptics or those who had not given You a second thought before. And let’s remember our friends in Louisiana, recovering from Hurricane Laura. As only You can, Lord, bring good out of all this destruction.
Forgive our sins, heal our nation. Lord, however You choose to do it, bring an end to the violence raging in many cities.
Needing You today even more, Jesus. Amen
