Good morning, Jesus.
Lord, today’s trials will challenge the depth of my faith. Unexpected problems or unintended or hostile offenses will reveal to me, and especially others who watch me, how much I’ve allowed Your Spirit to change my life. This road of “sanctification” of spiritual improvement You lead me on does not lack surprises. My spirit is now awakened to the subtle traps the enemy of my soul lays along the way. I can’t believe the lies he tells trying to distract me, but his plans will backfire. As I keep my eyes on You, Jesus, what the enemy meant to make me stumble becomes a stepping-stone to becoming more like You. As the apostle Paul wrote, “The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you” (Romans 16:20). Oh, yeah! Another crush on the serpent’s head.
Learning to love one another is also another stop on this road of sanctification. Teach us how to love other as You love. Forgive our sins, heal our nation. May all who call themselves Christ-followers act and love as You do, Lord Jesus.
