Good morning, Jesus.
Lord, we all have them, and I’m no exception. You’ve brought people into my sphere of influence who irritate me to the point I roll my eyes and want to run away. Some are mean and rude. Others will stab you in the back in a heartbeat. There is an abundance of people who are, well . . . just irritating. I need your Holy Spirit to change my heart toward these folks. If I’m to succeed in living your “love your enemies” and “love your neighbor” mandates, I’ll need your Spirit’s help to do what is impossible to do on my own. Without a doubt, you will keep bringing these folks along as you help me fine-tune my “love-those-who-tick-me-off” challenge. Guess this is just a part of life for a Christ-follower.
We ask you for your supernatural intervention to stop this coronavirus. May there be no more deaths from this virus and may all infected recover fully. We pray people will not panic and do foolish things that will increase fear and confusion. And please bring an end to the politicizing of this virus, that “leaders” will stop pointing fingers at one another, making false accusations without merit. Instead, use this virus to unite us to call on your mercy and grace.
Forgive our sins. Heal our nation. May we return to living our lives by biblical principles and morals.
Jesus, you’re an awesome God. Amen.
