Good morning, Jesus.
Lord God, there are not enough fingers and toes in the world to count all our blessings. Your goodness is boundless, your mercy is great, your kindness draws us to you where we find all we need in our life’s journey. In this Thanksgiving month, we continue to list our blessings, but we fall far short.
We’re thankful for:
- Giving your only Son Jesus to save us from our sins and give eternal life to all who place their trust in him.
- Your guardian angels who what over us, protecting our loved ones, especially our precious children.
- Our brave men and women in uniform, deployed around the world, who fight for freedom and destroy evil
- The police, who protect and serve, even when we are ticketed for speeding.
- Our firefighters, who rush into danger as others run for safety
- Our first responders, who are first to administer first aid, comfort, and hope
- For being born in America, the greatest country in the world, and although we’re flawed, you have blessed us with the most opportunities.
- Wrapping up in a warm towel fresh from the dryer
- The inexpressible joy seeing the big smile of a child who lost their front teeth
- Teachers who love their kids and have their best interest at heart
- The promise you give us, Lord God, for our prodigal child to return home.
Thankful for your presence when we face medical issues or physical afflictions. You never leave us nor forsake us, no matter how dark the situation. Thankful that you give hope and encouragement when despair tries to set in. Your peace keeps us clinging close to you. We are thankful that when we partner with you, Lord God, nothing is impossible to keep us from doing your will and living the life you ordained for us.
Thank you, Lord, for giving us new life in you. In Jesus’ name and in his authority, Amen.
