Good morning, Jesus.
Lord, You know that I hate to wait. Drives me nuts! Waiting on other flawed humans, like myself, for results or actions make me anxious. I know it shouldn’t make me that antsy, but it does. Lord, You see how restless I get just waiting for paint to dry or grass to grow. Did You wire me this way? I need things to happen right now. Why can’t everything proceed smoothly like I planned? In my soul, I’m stomping my foot—I want it now!
When I finally calm down, Your Holy Spirit breathes Your truths into my heart. “My child. Not why? but what? If you will let Me, I want to develop more of my attributes in you, but first you must slow down. Look to Me. What you learn by waiting on Me for things to happen in your life will change you. First, relax and let Me love you. You’re my child. I’m Your heavenly Father. My love will open the doors of joy in your heart, so that My peace will replace the anxiousness hanging around your spirit. Then, let me search your soul to reveal areas in your life that make you anxious about waiting. Allow Me to surgically remove these stumbling blocks in your soul that keep you from being all I created you to be. And finally, I long to show you what living in Isaiah 40:31 means—those who wait upon the Lord will receive new strength. They will soar like eagles, run and not be exhausted, walk but never fall behind.”
Lord, help us not to be anxious today but wait on You so we may experience more of Your grace.
Waiting on You, Jesus. Amen.
