Eclispe Day April 8, 2024

Lord, why are we amazed how your universe is so precisely ordered? You are the God of order, not of chaos. The opening verses of Psalm 19 knock down the arguments of the universe being in cosmic disarray after some “big bang” occurred. Far from it. Everything revolves in perfect timing. You have promised “as long as the earth remains, there will be planting and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night” (Genesis 8:22).

Today is “Eclipse Day,” where the moon will pass between the sun and the Earth, causing a total solar eclipse in many regions of the world. What is unique is this eclipse has been forecast to occur on this day for many decades. Scientists have tracked the movements of the Earth, the moon, and sun for decades and have determined that on this day, at the precise hours they have calculated, this eclipse will occur.

If the universe had no order, and every planet’s position in space was by happenstance, scientist would have no way of such a precise and correct prediction. But the ancients knew this all along. They acknowledged you controlled the heavens.

“He [God/Jesus] sustains everything by the mighty power of his command” Hebrews 1:3

“He existed before anything else, and he holds all creation together” Colossians 1:17

God promised, “As long as the earth remains, there will be planting and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night” (Genesis 8:22).

Lord, there is just too much evidence you are in control of everything in the universe. I certainly cannot argue that. Bring on the eclipse, Lord. You got this.
